These terms of service ("Terms") govern your use of the TryCarMatch website and service at trycarmatch.co.uk ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "last updated" date below. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

TryCarMatch provides: • A lifestyle-based car matching quiz that recommends suitable used cars • Vehicle checks using official DVLA and DVSA data • AI-powered car buying advice • Used car listings sourced from third-party providers • Running cost estimates and buying guidance Some features are available free of charge. Others require a paid Pro Pack (see Payments below). The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use by individuals researching the purchase of a used car in the United Kingdom.

Some features require you to create an account. You must: • Provide accurate and complete information when registering • Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account • Be at least 18 years old to create an account You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

The Pro Pack is a one-time payment that gives you lifetime access to Pro features including full vehicle history checks, negotiation strategy and a printable viewing checklist. There is no subscription and no renewal charge. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Prices are displayed inclusive of VAT where applicable. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel a digital purchase. However, by proceeding with your purchase you acknowledge that the service is delivered immediately and you consent to waive your cancellation right. If you have not accessed the Pro features, contact us at info@trycarmatch.co.uk and we will consider a refund at our discretion.

Vehicle information displayed on TryCarMatch — including MOT status, tax status, mileage records and vehicle specifications — is sourced from official UK government APIs (DVLA and DVSA). We retrieve this data in real time and display it as provided. While we take care to present this data accurately: • We do not guarantee that the data is free from errors or omissions • DVLA and DVSA records may not reflect very recent changes • Vehicle data should be verified independently before making a purchase decision • We are not responsible for inaccuracies in data provided by government sources A vehicle check on TryCarMatch does not constitute a full HPI or provenance check. We strongly recommend obtaining a comprehensive vehicle history check from an accredited provider before purchasing any used vehicle.

Used car listings displayed on TryCarMatch are sourced from third-party providers and are not verified by us. Listing availability, price and condition may change without notice. We are not a party to any transaction between you and a dealer or private seller. We do not earn commission on any sale. Any purchase you make is solely between you and the seller.

TryCarMatch uses Claude (Anthropic) to generate car matching recommendations, advisor responses and negotiation guidance. This content is AI-generated and is provided for informational purposes only. AI-generated content: • Is not professional financial, legal or mechanical advice • May occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date • Should not be relied upon as the sole basis for a significant purchase decision Always carry out your own due diligence before buying a vehicle.

You agree not to: • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law • Attempt to access, scrape or copy data from the Service by automated means • Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code • Use the Service to transmit spam, malware or harmful content • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity • Resell or sublicence access to the Service or its data • Interfere with the operation or security of the Service We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you breach these rules.

All content on TryCarMatch — including text, design, software, branding and AI-generated outputs — is owned by or licensed to TryCarMatch. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission. Vehicle data obtained via DVLA and DVSA APIs is Crown copyright and subject to the Open Government Licence.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that: • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure • Vehicle data will be accurate, complete or current • AI-generated recommendations will be suitable for your specific circumstances Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, TryCarMatch's total liability to you for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, special or punitive damages, including loss of profit, loss of data or loss of goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. We are not liable for any loss arising from: • Your reliance on AI-generated recommendations • Inaccuracies in DVLA or DVSA vehicle data • Transactions between you and car sellers • Third-party service outages (Stripe, Supabase, Anthropic)

You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability and governing law) will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer and reside in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction.
